Scott
E. Robinson earned a B.A. in Government and Politics (summa cum laude)
from the University of Texas at Dallas in 1997. He then earned an M.A.
(1999) and
Ph.D. in Political Science (2001) from Texas A&M University. Scott
E. Robinson
taught public leadership at Texas A&M in 2000 before taking a visiting
lectureship
at Rice University from 2000-2001. At Rice University, he taught classes
on
research design, the presidency, bureaucratic politics and policy, and
regulatory
policy.
Scott E. Robinson researches the management and politics of public organizations
and the dynamics of public policy. His public management research focuses
on the
methods by which organizational decision makers simplify complex problems
and
commit to organizational actions. This research employs a wide variety
of research
methods ranging from elite surveying to computer simulation. Scott E.
Robinson's
research on the politics of administrative agencies focuses on the recent
history of
administrative reforms as a tool of political control by the president
and Congress.
His policy research focuses on education policy and the development
of educational
organizations (including an article forthcoming in State Politics and
Policy Quarterly).
